New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music is a traveling Smithsonian exhibit, part of their Museum on Main Street program, hosted by the Johnson County Historical Society.

Through a selection of photographs, recordings, instruments, lyrics and artist profiles, this traveling Smithsonian exhibit explores the distinct cultural identities of Gospel, Country, Blues and other forms of roots music.

The main exhibit, an interactive collection of historic instruments, recordings and artifacts, will be on display in the Culp Building at the Johnson County Historic Complex at Water and Main Streets.

Throughout the time the exhibit is in town, a variety of musical performances, lectures and other activities will be presented at the Johnson County Historical Society office and at venues around Warrensburg.
